NDA Law has made the finalist list in two major law award programs this month:
The firm was recognised in the national Women in Law Awards finals in the categories of best Boutique Diversity firm and Innovator of the Year. In addition, NDA’s associate Lisa Christo has made the shortlist for the SA Young Lawyer of the Year Award, run by the South Australian Law Society.
Both awards showcase the outstanding expertise, skills, and service for which NDA Law team members are known for.
The Women in Law Awards are known as one of the Australian legal profession’s most prestigious programs, highlighting a who’s who of the legal industry competing across 31 categories, while the the Young Lawyer of the Year Award is the state’s most prestigious honour for an emerging legal professional, with only four finalists making the 2020 shortlist.
NDA Law’s managing director Joshua Davies said he was honoured to be working with such an outstanding team of all-female lawyers.
“This year has been one of the most challenging on record for legal professionals, so it’s great to have this opportunity to shine a spotlight on those who are going above and beyond to offer outstanding service and support for the benefit of their clients and their community.
“I am particularly proud of Lisa Christo who has managed some significant programs this year including working in the mergers and acquisition space that saw her managing the completion of a contracts register as part of the due diligence process for a $130 million business.
“Lisa’s contribution to the growth of the firm has been invaluable and she continues to demonstrate steadfast professionalism, dedication to detail, and expertise in advising clients. She has shown strong commercial acumen in advising a largely SME client base.
“Drawing on her accounting background, she appreciates that lawyers need to understand how the policy environment can affect business outcomes and how lawyers can play an important role in guiding SMEs through a changing environment.”
The NDA team has expanded in 2020 to include a new practice area in building and construction law. Fixed-fee billing options, lower cost monthly or annual retainers for small business, industry specific legal and risk training, and HR support workshops are now available for clients.
The SA Law Society Award for the Young Lawyer of the Year will be announced on November 20. The national Women in Law Award winners will be announced in a live broadcast virtual event on December 10.
