Lisa Christo has made the winning list of the brightest young lawyers in Australia, taking out the ‘Rising Star’ title in the 2020/21 Australasian Law Awards (ALA).

The award comes as international business magazine, Corp Today, named NDA Law as an award winner in a number of categories including ‘Best Boutique Commercial Law Firm – Australia’, ‘Best Civil Litigation Law Firm – Australia’, ‘Most Innovative Commercial Law Firm – South Australia’, and ‘Award for Distinction in Building & Construction Law 2021’ this week.

The ALA awards honour the hard work and dedication of outstanding lawyers from around the country recognising their experience in high level, high value projects, community work, as well as mentoring and teaching within the legal industry.

Ms Christo has worked at NDA Law since 2015, after graduating with a Bachelor of Laws and Commerce, and has built a specialisation in commercial law, estate planning and taxation. She was also a finalist for the South Australian Young Lawyer’s Award, and was recently promoted to the position of Senior Associate at NDA Law. Lisa Christo has also been recognised for her work with a listing as a national finalist in the 2020 Lawyers Weekly 30 under 30 Awards.

The ALA organisers commended all the winners on their commercial acumen and high levels of client service.

“These young professionals have made incredible strides in using their commercial and digital savvy to win and retain clients and negotiate high-risk, high-value deals for their firms. They have also contributed to the wider community through many avenues, including pro-bono work.

NDA Law’s Managing Director Joshua Davies said Ms Christo was an outstanding performer who had earned the outstanding accolades.

“Lisa is an exceptional young lawyer. NDA Law has been able to provide her with a wide range of experiences to hone her knowledge and she has used that to good advantage with our clients, the boards she works on, and with the students she now teaches at The University of Adelaide. She is an asset to the legal profession.”

NDA Law has won a swag of national awards over the past six years (most recently as a finalist in the 2020 Women in Law Awards for Boutique Diversity Firm and Innovator of the Year). NDA’s Corp Today recognition for Civil Litigation and Building and Construction Law is a testament to the dedication of NDA Law’s Managing Director Joshua Davies, having merged with NDA Law last year.
