NDA Law has once again made the list of the top female-friendly law firms in Australia with its lawyers making the finalist list in the prestigious Lawyers Weekly Women in Law Awards.

Lisa Christo was nominated as Senior Associate of the Year, SME Law, and NDA Law was selected in thecategory for Best Boutique Diversity Firm.

Managing Director, Joshua Michaels, said he was proud of the culture that had been developed at NDA Law under the direction of founder Andrea Michaels and said he hoped it served as an example to other law firms.

“Diversity, flexibility, work/life balance, and an environment that promotes equal opportunity is what we are about. That has been missing in the past in the big end of town, but I think boutique firms are now really leading the way.

“Quite simply we are seen as a workplace of choice because our firm is somewhere young female lawyers want to work because they know they will be supported in their careers every step of the way.”

He said Ms Christo was an example of a truly outstanding young lawyer who was empowered to take her career to the next level.

“Lisa is the kind of person who is confident now in her deep expertise and can hit the ground running. She is already on several boards, and I expect we will continue to see more of her achievements listed in the future.”

Ms Christo said she was honoured to be nominated in the national awards.

“It is just wonderful to have this kind of recognition on a national level and it is shared with the whole team at NDA Law.

“The past 12 months have been frantically busy as we have helped clients in the pandemic, so this is a wonderful celebration. Our expertise has had a significant bottom-line effect on SME business outcomes, and we are really proud of that.”

“I really love my work and it is great when people give a shout out to female Senior Associates. I’d like to congratulate all the other finalists in this category too, as I think women can do a lot to support each other and bring about some positive change in the industry.”

The Women in Law Awards are the benchmark for excellence, recognising outstanding women influencing the Australian legal profession. The prestigious awards program presents an exceptional opportunity for leading women to showcase their achievements and propel their careers.

The award winners will be announced on the evening of 25 November at The Star Event Centre, Sydney.
