2019 Australian Law Awards: Andrea Michaels makes the finals as Best Managing Partner

Andrea Michaels has been recognised for her strategic vision and outstanding commercial acumen in the 2019 Australian Law Awards as a finalist for Best Managing Partner of a law firm.

The annual awards, which have been running for 19 years, are regarded as the pinnacle event for the legal profession and recognise individual, team and firm excellence across 20 categories.

Ms Michaels said she was delighted to be singled out as a finalist for Australia’s most outstanding managing partner. She said NDA Law had made the finals several years in a row, but this was the first time she had made the finalist list for the most coveted leadership award.

“I’m thrilled to have made the national finals for this category as it’s a highly competitive field and very much the domain of the big end of town. As a smaller boutique firm located outside of Sydney and Melbourne, NDA Law is really punching above its weight in terms of our achievements this year.

“My strategy has always been to launch a very different kind of law firm. NDA Law focuses on partnerships with clients of all sizes and provides a very positive and nurturing work environment for all staff, regardless of age, gender or culture. It’s wonderful to be recognised for all we have achieved over the past five years.”

National winners will be announced at the awards ceremony to be held in Sydney on August 9.

NDA Law includes an expanding national client base providing advice in areas including tax, corporate structuring, estate planning, succession planning and family business, IP, trademarks, corporate advisory, and employment law.

Since its launch in 2015, NDA Law has won numerous industry awards, including a regular place in the Best Lawyers list of Australia’s lawyers for commercial law, tax, and wealth & succession planning, and employment law; Corporate LiveWire Finance Award for Best Boutique Law Firm in Australia; Finalist in SA Telstra Business Women’s Awards (Entrepreneur Award); Global Excellence Award for ‘Most Influential Woman in Tax Law – Australia’; ‘Best Tax Lawyer’, International Advisory Expert Awards; national winner, 2018 Lawyers Weekly Women in Law Awards (Best Boutique Diversity Firm), 2018 finalist in national Women’s Agenda Leadership Awards (Professional Services); and the 2019 APAC Business Awards winner for Best Tax Law Firm (Australia) and Leaders in Commercial Law (Australia).
